New Frontier Home Care joined Forces with Alzheimer’s Association on November 1st by volunteering at the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s

On November 1, 2014, New Frontier Home Care joined forces with the Alzheimer’s Association-Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter by volunteering at the annual Walk To End Alzheimer’s in downtown Houston. The walk started at 9:30am, but Team New Frontier Home Care was up bright and early at 6:30am to help set up and get organized at our designated volunteer work station. We were a part of over 300 volunteers from various associations and backgrounds who showed up to help volunteer in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

New Frontier Home CareThe weather that morning was 45 degrees (Burrrr!), very cold for Houston, but that didn’t stop us from going out. We just bundled up and hit the ground running! There were more than 3,000 people that participated in the 3.1 mile walk that started at Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros.

Before, during and after the walk there were different booths and activities that participants could visit. All were geared at better educating individuals on the Alzheimer’s disease and the Association’s goals and objectives.

The main objective of the walk is to unite the entire community- friends, family, social groups, and co-workers- while raising awareness and providing support in the fight against this devastating disease. All funds raised from the Walk to End Alzheimer’s benefit the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

New Frontier Home Care would like to give a special thanks again to Amy Wolf, the Volunteer Manager at Alzheimer’s Association, Houston & Southeast Chapter. Amy did an awesome job managing the volunteers at the event and ensuring everyone was in the right places. We first met Amy on our tour of the newly remodeled Alzheimer’s Association office located at 6055 South Loop East.

More than 50% of New Frontier Home Care’s clients have some form of Alzheimer’s/Dementia, whether it being in the early onset or more advanced stages. We are here to help serve and give both the client and family peace of mind knowing we will be there every step of the way. New Frontier Home Care has one of the best Caregiver/CNA trainers in Texas, who specializes in the training and care of individuals with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. We don’t just say we have the best caregivers, we know we do and we’ll prove it.

If ever the need arises for home care for your love one, or even if you just need advice on possible options you have to take, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We stand behind our slogan: Always Caring. Always There.
